In keeping with the established connectional and relational form of government established in The Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Session of The Bethlehem Presbyterian Church serves as the local governing body of the congregation.
The Session is made-up of nine (9) Elders who serve in three classes. After serving two, three-year terms in office, an Elder must rotate off the Session for one year prior to being eligible for re-election to the Session. Session members are elected annually at the Congregational Meeting held at the end of January.
The Session sends one Commissioner and the Pastor to participate in the regularly established, and special, meetings of the Presbytery of Shenango.
The connectional and relational system is further carried forward as the Presbytery of Shenango sends Commissioners to the Synod of the Trinity and to the General Assembly which meets on a bi-annual cycle -- in years ending with even numbers.
